Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each, primarily known for its use of a spherical ball that players aim to move down the field and into the opposing team’s goal to score points. The game is played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, with goals at each end.

There are various forms of football, but the two most prominent are association football (commonly called soccer in the United States and Canada) and American football. Association football emphasizes foot skills, passing, and teamwork, while American football incorporates carrying, throwing, and tactical planning.

The objective of the game is to score more goals or points than the opposing team within a set duration of play, which typically consists of two halves. The sport has a rich history and is governed by various rules and regulations, with the sport’s international governing body being FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) for association football, and the NFL for American football. Football is one of the most popular sports globally, celebrated for its competitive nature, fan engagement, and cultural significance.
